…And A Happy New Year!

December 31st, 2008 · 9 Comments

Is it just me or does time seem to travel at warp speed during the holidays??  Somehow the “later this weekend” in my last post has turned into “middle of next week.”  LOL.  Nonetheless I’m here now here with a catch-up post, comprised of bulleted points so that I can better keep up with myself :)

  • Car – I finally got a new car!  Whooo-hooo!!  I took the advice of the majority of my readers and got a new Murano.  It’s almost exactly the same as my old one – same color blue, same black interior, but it’s the 2009 body style and has lots of new toys.  I’m a big fan of the toys.  I got my fantastic-can’t-live-without-them bun warmers with an added bonus of warmers for the back seats as well, the back up camera for this years model is improved to show your path of motion, and my favorite new toy is the bluetooth feature that enables me to talk on my phone through the speakers of my car.  GENIOUS!
  • Chicago – I went on a very chilly but very fun trip to Chicago with my friends Amanda and Chasityto celebrate Chasity’s graduation (whooo-hooo, go Chas!)  I was going to try and combine that into this post too but since I have around 45 pics that I want to share I’m going to wait and make that a post of it’s very own.  But I’ll go ahead and share this one pic of Santa and a one horse (not so) open sleigh (ok no it’s a carriage but sleigh sounded so much better) from the trip.

  • Christmas – I had a fantastic Christmas, spending lots of time with family and friends.  On Christmas Eve my friend Tiffany came over and we engaged in our annual tradition of baking and candy making.  The highlight of this year’s treats were by far the Maple Bacon Cupcakes.  Seriously not vegan of me (sorry Kitty!), but seriously Foodgasmic.  Thankfully Christmas comes but once a year!  Then on Christmas day we went over to my dad’s in the morning and hosted the rest of my family at our house in the evening.  I got all sorts of fun new toys including a Flip Video camera that I’ve been playing with nonstop since Christmas and (drum roll please)…..a new MacBook!  I’m still learning to use the Mac, but I think it is going to seriously speed up my workflow.  We ended the day with a trip to the movie theater to see Marley and Me.  Nothing like a good cleansing cry on Christmas!  LOL, it was a good movie, just be sure and take lots of kleenex!!

Alright, that’s all I’ve got time for tonight.  Hopefully I’ll be back with a full Chicago recap soon.  For now I’m off to ring in the new year in my PJs covered in a pile of pugs.  Happy 2009 everyone!!!

Maple Bacon Cupcakes. The thought almost scares me, but deep inside is that boy that grew up in Vermont that is widely intrigued. You’re going to love that new Macbook. If you haven’t yet get the Apple Care Protection plan before the year is up. The extra two years of phone support is SO worth it if you run into any issues down the road.
