Happy day 9 of 2009! I’ve been wanting to blog every night this week but I keep getting distracted by working on our new website that will hopefully be all finished up at the end of this weekend (ok not entirely finished up b/c I plan for it to be an ever evolving work in progress type thing but finished up enough to be able to post it!). And while I’m mentioning our new site I should also mention that we will most likely be experiencing some downtime on the blog as we make the transition. Additionally our blog will most likely be moving to www.lotusblossomphotography.net, but our website will remain at www.lotusblossomphotography.com. Hope that’s not too confusing! Remember, you can always get to the blog via links on the website too
Anyway, since the whole world has been abuzz with resolutions, goals, and “words for the year” I decided it would be a good time to take a look at the goals I made on my birthday this year to see where I am and where I want to be. So let’s take a look:
1) Travel abroad again – Well we were planning on India, then we got scared off by the attacks over Thanksgiving, then we discussed Thailand, but the past few days we talked about Costa Rica. Any suggestions? I really want to get this nailed down soon!
2) Meet my goal for weddings booked next year. – Working on this one!! Looks like lots of people found engagement rings under their tree b/c inquiries have been up!
3) Finish my honeymoon scrapbook album – DONE! I finished it last weekend!
4) Put the rest of the honeymoon pictures into the photo albums – I used more than I thought I would in my scrapbook so now I’ve got to order more prints before I can finish this one!
5) Turn the office into a functional space – We are thinking of converting it into a gym but this one is still in the *thinking* process.
6) Run at least two 5ks – I’m going to say this is 1/2 done since I did the Boulevard Bolt at Thanksgiving. It’s a 5-miler so that’s a 5k plus
7) Keep my house in order on a regular basis – I honestly feel like this is going pretty well!
8 ) Learn to sew – DONE and decided I hate sewing. It’s just not for me!
9) Learn to paint – Maybe I can convince Amanda to give me a lesson when we go visit her over MLK day weekend *hint hint*
10) Find a good church – In progress. SO much harder than it sounds.
11) Say Thank You more – I feel like this is going well. I’ve even sent a few TY cards!
12) Weed the LEFT side of the flower beds, LOL. – FAIL. It’s cold out. I’ll come back to this one in the spring.
13) Paint the guest bathroom – I’ve picked a color, but we haven’t painted yet.
14) Decorate the master bathroom – FAIL. I don’t know why this is so hard for me.
15) Go through that pile of ??? CDs – Ugghh yet another FAIL. As a matter of fact I think I’ve added to the ??? pile.
16) Clean out my closet (shoes included) – Clothes, check. Shoes, FAIL. I have such a hard time parting with any of my shoes.
17) *censored* =) – this is so sad, but I don’t even remember what this one was!! I guess it’s not important then, LOL!
18) Go to the beach – If we go to Costa Rica that will take care of this one!
19) Get a pedicure – This will be in the spring when I can wear sandals again.
20) Get a facial – Not yet!
21) Cut off my hair – Done!
22) Go outside more – I’ll get back to this one in the spring.
23) Catch up on backing up our personal photos – this is on my very-near future to do list
24) Get a flash website – See above!! Soon-to-be Check!
25) Streamline my editing – in progress, but I have made pretty good headway!
26) Research my family history – I did get some history from each of my Grandmothers but I haven’t done any tracing back yet.
27) Read a fictional book – FAIL. I even made it 250 pages in and I just. couldn’t. finish. I’ve switched to a new book that I hope is more interesting.
So that’s like 5 out of 27. 6 if I give myself the one I can’t remember what it was. I need to get busy b/c there is still so much to do!! If this was a test I’d be failing, ackk!!
And just for fun, here’s a picture of me hard at work behind the camera
