In order for you to make any sense at all out of the photos I’m about to post, you need a little background info. I’m relatively certain that I’ve made it clear that I’m a hoodlum (not to be confused with a hoodrat). Now before you freak out about that confession (ahhhem, mom), I’m a hoodlum in the sense that I was raised in a shopping mall, grew up in a Nashville where it was standard practice to look for trouble at the Waffle House come Saturday night, and I still to this day enjoy some good home made sounding booty music.
True to these roots, when I was in college in California I surveyed all the local Malls and found what I believed to be the holy grail of hoodlum malls – Hilltop Mall. This is not only the first place I spotted the infamous Homie dolls, but it was home to a tiny photo studio we dubbed “50,000 for a Dollar” where, obviously, you could get almost 50,000 wallet size photos for a dollar. Perfect for bored, poor college students. Here’s a scan I ripped off my friend Melanie’s Facebook page that shows a few of these photos:
In the spirit of 50,000 for a Dollar, and since Tiffany came in for a visit we decided to do a few of our own with John as our photographer. I only did the “dipped in milk” look for this one photo – I have to say, I think it’s pretty spot on. If only we had some multi colored tulle in the background…..LOL.
And here are a few more fun ones, sans the dipped in milk look.
P.S. Could you hear a little Big Tymers “Still Fly” in the background? Yeah, I thought so. ;)
