Here is what Leona had to add to our growing library of Money Saving Monday tips:

If you are working with a budget, which most brides are, I would say foremost to hire a wedding planner.   We will be able to advise you where to cut corners that won’t be noticed, and give you excellent tips for small details that make a big impression.

One thing that I love using is the couple’s monogram on as much as we can.   This helps tie everything together while using their colors and is something very personal.   You can purchase custom monograms made for you for very little from many companies, I do originals is a company that I use for my brides. (www.idooriginals.com)   They are a great company and their work is amazing.   Once you get the monograms you can use them wherever you like.   This is a great thing to add to your invitation to give guests a great first impression.   Invitations aren’t that hard to make yourself if you purchase a package from your local office supply store.

Another easy DIY project is your programs for your ceremony and these are another great place to use your custom monogram.   You can make reserved signs for your family for both the ceremony and the reception on card stock and incorporate your monogram.   I do originals also offers aisle runners, banners and other items that allow you to use your monogram.   While these are relatively inexpensive items they add a great deal to your décor and leave a great impression.

These are all things that you can get help with from your bridal party.   Maybe one of your groomsmen majored in graphic design and would love to design your monogram.   Find out all the hidden talents that your bridal party has and use them to your best ability.

Leona, thank you so much for your helpful advice!!  Be sure to check out Leona’s website and blog to see how you can have her help you with your big day.
