Our last day in London
We had three main objectives on our last day – to see St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London and to do a little shopping on Portobello Road. Our first stop was St. Paul’s, but first, here are a few random pics of things we passed along the way.

I had to snap this one for my friend Allie – I think it’s a Steakhouse.

Love, love, love Big Ben.

The gorgeous London Eye

And we spotted a Memphis Taxi too!

This church still had mortar scars from the WWII bombing of London.

This church inspired the shape of modern wedding cakes according to our guide.

I honestly don’t know if this was really wood or concrete made to look like wood, but either way I thought it looked cool!

And then we were at St. Paul’s. It was incredible inside and out. Unfortunately, photos were not allowed inside again, boooo!! St. Paul’s was designed by London’s most famous architect Christopher Wren and he is actually buried inside it. However in my mind St. Paul’s is most famous for being the place where Diana and Charles were married.

Next stop was the Tower of London and on the way there we passed Tower Bridge.

So I’m not exactly sure what I thought the Tower was going to look like, but I am sure that this is not at all what I had in mind. It was really cool nonetheless.

Inside the gates there were lots of people playing historical roles. These people were playing Anne Boleyn and her guards.

Then we went into one of the places I’d been looking forward to seeing since we got to London – the Bloody Tower. This is the tower that was the setting for a good portion of the book I read while on vacation – To The Tower Born. The book was all about the two princes who were locked away in the tower. I highly recommend it

View from the top of the Bloody Tower of the Bridge.

After the Bloody Tower we saw the Crown Jewels and some of King Henry VIII’s armor, both of which prohibited photography.

The last part of the Tower we visited before leaving was the monument for those who were beheaded there.

Then we were on our way to eat a quick lunch and check out Portobello Road. On the way we passed Big Ben again and I couldn’t help but snap a few last photos of one of my favorite London attractions.

Then we arrived at Portobello Road. It was a shoppers paradise, even on a weekday. I can’t even imagine how awesome it must be on a Saturday.

I bought a cute makeup bag at this store

A pink door. Fabulous idea. Reminds me of a pink coat I almost bought today…

And I made mom humor me with one more self portrait on the bus ride back to the hotel.

When we arrived back at the hotel mom was exhausted and needed to put her poor swollen feet up so I went to our favorite little pub and got some fish and chips to go. And I took a few pics along the way of course

The next morning we went to the airport for our long journey back home. Hope you enjoyed the little peek into our adventure. The end

I love these images! I love the composition in them all. It would be fun to make some wall art with these photos.

Love ‘em all! Amber, you’re my favorite blogger (and photographer) ever.
I love every last photo, but I especially had fun with the Portobello Road pix. I’m quite familiar with a Disney song by the same name, but this is the first time I had actually seen the location that inspired the song! Thanks!
