So you got engaged over the holidays? The next logical step is setting a date. I’ve given lots of advice on how when you choose to get married can affect your budget but I thought a little re-cap for the newly engaged would be nice!
(1) As discussed recently, getting married near Christmas can save you big bucks.
(2) Additionally, anytime from November to March is considered “slow season.”
(3) The time of day can also have a big effect on cost – consider a morning wedding followed by Brunch. Bacon Toffee for dessert anyone??
(4) The day of the week is a big factor in cost as well. 6pm on Saturday is typically the most popular wedding day and time. A Friday or Sunday wedding is likely to be more cost effective.
(5) If you have your heart set on the use of a certain flower, get married when it’s in season. For example, if you’ve had your heart set on red roses for your wedding since you were 5, do not, I repeat DO NOT get married in February unless you are prepared to pay an arm and a leg for flowers.
That’s all for tonight! I’m working on the Winter Edition of the Lotus Blossom Photography Newsletter so be watching your mailbox
P.S. I never shared our holiday card, so here it is for anyone who didn’t get one in the mail. Photo taken by the amazing Emily T.
