Oh SNAP!, Good Tunes and Even Better Food

March 25th, 2010 · 6 Comments

Every now and then I feel an obligation to share these things I love with you.  So here’s a new list, enjoy! :)

-Stoneyfield Organic Yogurt Chocolate Underground flavor.  Yes I know it sounds nasty, but it tastes like eating cream cheese icing topped with Hershey’s syrup.  It’s ridonkulously delicious.

-La Mexicana Hot Salsa.  I recently discovered the joy of good salsa over a salad vs. fatty bad-for-you salad dressing.  Hidden Valley, I’m never coming back.

-Mini Marshmallow snack packs.  This really needs no explanation, just try not to drop marshmallows all over your black pants like I do frequently.

- Snap Happy Photobooth.  I met Bianca and her husband Paul at the Boro Bridal Ball this weekend and had an absolute blast playing around in their photo booth.   I wish I had known them when I was planning!!  Here’s a bad scan of the photobooth fun John and I had at the bridal show!

-R Kelly.  Yes he can be a bit over the top, but you always know what to expect with him.  And don’t even try to tell me you don’t giggle when you hear “Feelin’ on your b00ty, your b00ty, b000000000ty!!!”

- The Gas Lamp Antique Mall – probably, no definitely, my most favorite antique shop in all of Nashville.

-Deee-Light.  My co worker Heather reminded me of this group and rekindled my love of their goofy, stuck-in-the-60s style.  I can totally remember listening to the “World Clique” tape on my walkman back in the 5th grade.  Dude, I’m old.

-Decorating bridal show booths with limes.  Cause it means mojitos every night the week after!  Woo-hooo!

-M and V’s Soul Food – My new favorite restaurant, that I was introduced to thanks to my friend Jennifer.  The owners, Melvin and Vertta have made me feel like part of the family since the minute I walked through the front door.  You should really check it out – tell them I sent you and be sure and order the mac and cheese.  Oh and I took some photos for them last night b/c they just might be on TV soon.  Go eat there now and you can say you knew them before they were famous ;)

Wish I lived closer… just reading about their food makes my mouth water (and it’s only 6:30 am!).

Dude, “Groove is in the Heart” played on my tape deck in high school. Stop this old nonsense.

Never been to Gas Lamp, I love the 8th St Antique Mall downtown. Vendors tend to lean toward mid-century, which you know I dig.
