Maria and Kavin – Downtown Nashville Engagement Session

So rain. It gets a bad rep. I had been feverishly checking the weather all day before we met up with Maria and Kavin in Downtown Nashville for their engagement session. Cloudy, cloudy, blah blah – not a word about rain. Approximately 5 minutes into their shoot it starts to rain. And you know what? These two worked it out!! Seriously, the rain turned from something that is normally a nuisance into a romantic backdrop for their love story. Jessica and Josh – Ellington Agricultural Center Engagement Session

Last weekend John and I had the good fortune of taking Jessica and Josh’s engagement photos. They were looking for something a little more on the traditional side so we decided to do their photos at Ellington Agricultural Center in south Nashville. We were blessed with some amazing light and that combined with Jessica and Josh’s fantastic chemistry made for some gorgeous photos! Below are some of my favorites. So Amanda and Ben are awesome. We hit it right off when we met to talk about booking and I’ve been looking forward to seeing them again for months. Amanda is gorgeous and it is more than obvious that Ben adores her – a rare thing for a couple who has already been together for over 10 years! That’s right these two have been together for over a decade already and still have so much chemistry that it is just oozing out of these pics. I am SO excited for their wedding next month!!

Katie and Adam – Nashville Engagement Session

I had so much fun at this engagement session!! These two are just hysterical and oh so cute together. Despite the fact that it was like 110 degrees the day we took these, they looked great and kept laughing all afternoon. After having to postpone due to rain/flood/etc the first time, this truly was an engagement session that captured the essence of Nashville as well as the personalities of Katie and Adam.

Erin and Blake – Inspired by The Bachelor Nashville Engagement Session

Every now and then we are blessed with clients who say “do whatever you want!” When this happens I do a little happy dance and then I try to get to the bottom of just exactly what they love and what will stretch my creative muscle. In talking with Erin, I found out that one of the things that she and Blake love doing together is watching ABC’s The Bachelor. BINGO! The idea for an engagement shoot inspired by The Bachelor was born With the aid of the lovely Emily Kennedy acting as stylist, we put together three lovely scenes – the picnic date, the downtown date, and last but not least the final rose ceremony. P.S. I’m totally posting out of order, but I just couldn’t help it!! This couple + this concept was too fabulous not to post next!! Soon to come…another fun wedding!

Kayla and Brock Engagement Pics – The Williamson County Fair

I’m back and it’s Monday so I should totally be doing a “Money Saving Monday” post, but I just can’t keep Kayla waiting one more second for her blog post! When Kayla called me and mentioned she wanted to have engagement pics done at the fair I was driving and literally almost ran off the road I was so excited. I have a longtime love affair with all things fair related. The bright colors, the crazy food, the fun rides, the crazy food, the animals, the crazy food. Did I mention I love the crazy food?? When I told John that we were doing Kayla and Brock’s pics at the fair and that it was at her suggestion, he totally didn’t believe me. He knows how much I love the fair and was convinced I had talked her into it. Not so and I think you can see not only how much I love the fair in these photos, but more importantly how much Kayla and Brock love each other. Even in the midst of the chaos that is the fair, their love took center stage. As always I’m posting a few of my favorites, but be sure to check out their slideshow, it’s a fun one!!

Crystal and Justin’s Engagement Photos

Uggghh, it’s been over a week since my last post! I’m so sorry about that, but I had a good reasons! In addition to technical problems earlier this week, John and I have been working nonstop. A little over a week ago we met up with Justin and Crystal in Justin’s hometown for their engagement session. These two are getting married in June and we can hardly wait to shoot their wedding! Then over the weekend we shot the rehearsal dinner and wedding of K&M which was fantastic! And I got a little surprise at their reception that I’ll share with you in a later post.

Now on with Crystal and Justin’s engagement pics! I just love these pics. We are so lucky to have the privilege or photographing such beautiful, loving couples – it really makes our jobs easier! Below are a few of my favorites, if you’d like to see more be sure to view their slideshow.

PS – the song in their slide show is *their song* – “You Are” by Jimmy Wayne. I’m not a big country music girl, but I just love this song. It’s so sweet and so perfect for them! I get all teary-eyed just listening to it!

Taylor & Brett’s Engagement Pics

Where do I even begin?? I can not begin to imagine a more sweet, sincere, gorgeous {{emphasis on the gorgeous!!}} couple than Taylor and Brett. These two are seriously just made for each other. The love that they share was obvious from the minute we first saw them! To begin our shoot we met at Dickson County High School where they initially met, but didn’t start dating until they both were students at Austin Peay. As we wandered through downtown Dickson, we were delighted to find spot after awesome spot for pics. And just when I didn’t think the afternoon could get any better, we swung by Taylor’s house to pick up Carter and Hooter!! As most of you already know John and I are huge dog lovers (we have 4 of our own and regularly volunteer with Pug Rescue) and it was just a joy to be able to capture images of the whole family. I cannot think of a better way to spend a gorgeous summer afternoon than photographing two people in love and their dogs

Taylor and Brett – I cannot thank you two enough for allowing us to play a small part in your love story. Congrats on your engagement!!
