Whitney and Garrett – Cajun Lake Wedding

August 28th, 2011 · 4 Comments

Whitney and Garrett are not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well.  They were married on a hot, humid August day, but they were both so happy and kind to those around them that it made the day wonderful for everyone.  This was also our first time shooting at Cajun Lake in Burns, TN and it was just beautiful!  Some of the best light I’ve worked with in a while :)  Add to that the hand made touches that Whitney created and the whole wedding was just a photographer’s dream!

Whitney and Garrett – Thank you again for having us there to capture your special day.  We loved every minute of it and wish you both the best of everything in your marriage!

***Special thanks to Emily T Photography for coming out to help me again since I am getting bigger by the minute***

Whitney you are gorgeous!!

I really loved working with these ladies – it was so hot, but not a complaint out of anyone!  You ladies are awesome :)

I loved all the areas Cajun Lake had set up to do photos.  So much fun!

Then it was the guys’ turn.  They did great too!

Some of Whitney’s handiwork!

I absolutely love this shot John took of their trip back down the aisle.  LOVE!!

And then we were off to take post-wedding pics.  Nothing quite like taking photos of a freshly married couple in beautiful light!

I loved all the special little touches Whitney created for their reception.

Kynna and TJ – Cathedral of the Incarnation Nashville Wedding

July 31st, 2011 · 2 Comments

Kynna and TJ are such a sweet couple and their wedding last Saturday was a perfect reflection of them both!  From the beautiful pink dresses to the purple flower in her bouquet in memory of her Poppy who passed just a week before the wedding, every element of the wedding was planned with love.  And a fun fact: Kynna is a twin!  Her twin sister was the maid of honor.  I have to admit, I’ve really enjoyed being able to ask Kynna all my twin girl questions :)  I can only hope that our girls grow up to be as sweet and beautiful as Kynna and her sister!

There are a few people I need to thank for making this amazing day possible!  First is CJ Dickson of Williamson County Weddings and Events.  CJ and her team made the day flow so seamlessly, it was an absolute pleasure to work with her.  Second I have to thank my sweet friend Emily T for coming along and shooting with John and I.  As my belly continues to grow it is a huge advantage to have extra help!  For a complete list of vendors, please scroll to the bottom.

Now on to the photos!

We started off the morning at the hotel where Kynna was getting ready for her big day!

Then it was time for the 1st look and photos of Kynna and TJ alone.

Kynna and TJ wear these bracelets in memory of her Poppy.  They say “No one fights alone.”

See those pretty pink dresses I was talking about?  Gorgeous!

Kynna dancing down the alley – you would never know it was almost 100 degrees that day!  Despite the heat, she was all smiles!

I LOVED the guys shoes!  (Thank you Emily for this shot!)

The inside of the Cathedral is breathtaking.

Big laughs at the altar are my favorite :)

LOVED the beautiful gobo at the reception!  All of the lighting was beautiful thanks to Nashville Event Lighting.

Another fun fact – Kynna and TJ’s first dance was to Tim McGraw’s “My Best Friend,” the same song John and I danced to at out wedding.  BUT!  They totally took it a step farther by breaking out into a choreographed routine that was awesome.  And thanks to Audio Video Art, you can see it right here!

(Thank you Emily for this shot as well)

A family tribute dance for Kynna’s Poppy.

And then it was time to get the party started!

And two of my favorite images of the day – the big exit!

Their look of surprise when they realized Grandma was in the drivers seat!

Thanks again you two for having us there to capture your day!  It was absolutely perfect!

Pepe – Nashville Dog Photography

July 17th, 2011 · 3 Comments

Last month I had a wonderful WAG! Session with my smallest client yet – a 2 lb Chihuahua named Pepe.  He was absolutely adorable and a real ham for the camera!  Unfortunately this will be my last WAG! session until after the twins arrive.  I’ve gotten to the point where I’m just not able to crawl around on my hands and knees after the pups :)  However, if you’d like to schedule a session, let me know and we will go ahead and get you on the calendar for spring!

Pepe’s owner Charlotte was a bit camera shy but I managed to get her to pose for these two photos :)

We also shot a few images with Pepe’s friends.  It’s amazing how tiny he looks next to a standard size Chihuahua!

And another of Pepe’s friends that I couldn’t resist photographing before I left.  I love “giant pugs” aka Mastiffs :)

Uprinting Postcard Giveaway!

June 29th, 2011 · 5 Comments

***Contest Closed – Congrats Reyanna!***

I almost never do outside giveaways on the blog.  Being that this is more a business blog than a personal blog, it’s just not something that fits all that well.  However, a few weeks ago I got a postcard in the mail from Suzi and Dave announcing their post-wedding change of address and it was just too cute!  Then just a couple of days later one of the representatives from Uprinting, a company I had pamphlets printed through in the past, contacted me to see if I would be interested in giving away some post cards :)  Good timing!

So thanks to a little inspiration from Suzi and Dave and my friendly Uprinting rep, I’m happy to be giving away 100 5×7 postcards to one of my readers.  All you have to do is leave a comment on this blog entry by July 3 at midnight.  I will come back here to announce the winner.  Good luck!!

***Other things you should know***

The prize is for 100 5×7 postcards for 1 winner.  Double sided printing on 14 point cardstock gloss.  No folding.  2 business days print turnaround time.  Winner must be 18 years or older and have not won a Uprinting contest in the last 6 months.

This giveaway is sponsored by UPrinting, an online printing company, no monetary compensation was given and I will receive postcards for hosting. See more information about postcards and available postcard designs on UPrinting.com.
